Float in for the 2022 Root Beer Bash… a festival brewed for families!

Glendale is the “Root Beer Capital of the Universe” and we celebrate with a free, family-friendly festival centered around “Root Beer”. In 2021, we welcomed over 3,000 families to our event. JOIN US for Welcome to Glendale's 5th Annual Sprecher Root Beer Bash presented by Sprecher Brewing Company, BAYSHORE and Culver's Glendale.

WHEN? Saturday, August 6th, 2022 (11am to 7pm) *National Root Beer Float Day!

WHERE? The Yard at BAYSHORE (5800 N Bayshore Dr, Glendale, WI 53217)

COST? FREE to attend! No ticket necessary but please register here for attendance & supply purposes.

PARKING? FREE! There are three parking structures surrounding Bayshore.

WEATHER? This festival is hosted outdoors. (There are indoor, handicap accessible restrooms available.) However, in inclement weather…this festival will be canceled. There is no rain date scheduled. This webpage and the WELCOME TO GLENDALE Facebook Page will post notifications.

PETS? We love pets…however, no animals are permitted at BAYSHORE.

VISITING FROM OUT OF TOWN? Welcome to Glendale! Please stay in one of our seven hotels. The Holiday Inn Milwaukee Riverfront is offering a special room block for guests and a free shuttle service to the event. Call 414.962.6040 and ask for the room block named Root Beer Bash, Block Code T54. Check in date is August 5, 2022 and check out is August 7, 2022. Please make your reservation by July 5, 2022.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

11AM: EVENT STARTS

11AM-TBD: SPRECHER & CULVER'S ROOT BEER FLOAT GIVEAWAY Get your FREE Root Beer Float sponsored by SPRECHER BREWING COMPANY and CULVER'S GLENDALE and help set a world record for most root beer floats given away! Note: this is not a drive-thru event. Pedestrians welcome!

11AM-TBD: GOODY BAG GIVEAWAY The first 500 attendees will receive a goody bag filled with prizes and fun surprises sponsored by THE FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE!

11AM-1PM: KIDS DANCE PARTY, BALLOON ARTIST, FACE PAINTING Kids can get their groove on as they dance to kid-friendly music, receive FREE balloon animals, and FREE face painting sponsored by JILLY’S CAR WASH (Face painting will be free until 1:00pm. Face painting will still be available for purchase after this time).

11AM-3PM: KIDS PETTING ZOO, TIE DYE TENT Once again, Farmer Dan brings his collection of baby goats, rabbits, pigs, ducks…and a donkey named “Root Beer”. Special feed is available for feeding the animals (if they don’t get too full!) sponsored by TOWN BANK- WHITEFISH BAY. Kids can also get creative and make tie dyed shirts for FREE (while supplies last) sponsored by BARNES REALTY GROUP.

11AM-4PM: COMMUNITY ART PROJECT Children of all ages can help make a community art project. Once finished, these masterpieces will be shown for all to see at Glendale’s City Hall or Glendale’s Visitor Center. This event is sponsored by GLENDALE HEIGHTS CHILDCARE.

11AM-5PM: ART & ARTISAN/ VENDOR BOOTHS New this year! Check out different vendor booths and see their beautiful collections, delicious treats, and more! Vendor Booths includes: Boom Chakra Laka, Dawn and Michelle, Elleta Fibers, Goody Gourmets, Jaynas Home Goods LLC, Katelyn Boss, Orange Pops, Thom J Ertl Designs, Tres Ojos, Waverly Educational Consulting

11AM-7PM: FOOD TRUCK ALLEY: Oxtail Noodle House, Shorty’s Grilled Cheese, Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds, Junior's Smoked BBQ, Meat on the Street, Kona Ice, Pilcrow Coffee.

Also, enjoy the food and restaurants at BAYSHORE including Kilwins, The Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, FreshFin Poke, Culver's, Crumbl Cookies, Potbelly Sandwich Shop, Rocky Rococo, and more.

1PM-2PM: DJ COMPLETE WEDDINGS + EVENTS hosts throughout the day featuring popular music.

2PM-4PM: COLD SWEAT & THE BREW CITY HORNS Genre: Funk, R&B, Soul, Dance, Rock and Pop. The consummate dance band with horns! 8-piece band featuring a 4- piece rock solid rhythm section and a super tight 3-piece horn section, led by incredible vocalists.

5PM-7PM: BLOCK PARTY BAND (HEADLINER BAND) BLOCK PARTY plays your favorite rock, pop, dance & country music. Pump your fist or dance the night away – we want every show to be a party!

Would you like to volunteer? Our community volunteers make this event a success! We seek volunteers 13 years and older. This is a great opportunity for a student. Volunteers assist with set-up, take-down, counting attendance, helping at booths, directing traffic, etc. To volunteer email:
