Experience the World's Largest Root Beer Float Festival!

Glendale is the “Root Beer Capital of the Universe” and we celebrate with a FREE, family-friendly festival centered around “Root Beer”. Join us for Welcome to Glendale's 6th annual Sprecher Root Beer Bash presented by Sprecher Brewing Company, BAYSHORE and Culver's Glendale. Carry-in alcohol and animals are prohibited.

WHEN: Saturday, August 5 from 11am-3pm *National Root Beer Float Day!

WHERE: The Yard at BAYSHORE, 5800 N Bayshore Dr, Glendale, WI

PARKING: FREE! There are three parking structures and street parking at BAYSHORE.

WEATHER: This festival is hosted outdoors. (There are indoor, handicap accessible restrooms available.) However, in inclement weather…this festival will be canceled. There is no rain date scheduled.

STAY & PLAY IN GLENDALE: Welcome to Glendale! Please stay in one of our seven hotels. The Holiday Inn Milwaukee Riverfront is offering a special room block for guests and a free shuttle service to the event. Call 414.962.6040 and ask for the room block named Root Beer Bash. Check in date is August 4, 2023 and check out is August 6, 2023. Please make your reservation by July 4, 2023.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

11AM-3PM: SPRECHER & CULVER'S ROOT BEER FLOAT GIVEAWAY
Get your FREE Root Beer Float sponsored by Sprecher Brewery and Culver's Glendale! Sprecher Brewery will donate a free meal to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin for every root beer float served. Note: this is not a drive-thru event. Pedestrians welcome!

11AM: GOODY BAG GIVEAWAY
The first 500 kids will receive a free Root Beer Bash Swag Bag!

11AM-1PM: KID BOOGIE DOWN DANCE PARTY, BALLOON ARTIST, FACE & HENNA PAINTING
Kids can get their groove on as they dance to Kid Boogie Down, receive FREE balloon animals, and FREE face and henna painting. Face and henna painting will be free until 1pm. Face and henna painting will still be available for purchase from 1pm - 3pm.

11AM-3PM: KID'S PETTING ZOO
Once again, Farmer Dan brings his collection of baby goats, rabbits, pigs, ducks…and a donkey named “Rootie”. Special feed is available for feeding the animals (if they don’t get too full!).

11AM-3PM: KID'S FLOAT ZONE
Check out the Kid's Float Zone where your imagination can run wild, sponsored by Nothing Bundt Cakes Milwaukee - Northshore!

11AM-3PM: COMMUNITY ART PROJECT
Children of all ages can help make a community art project. Paint a masterpiece or contribute to the annual Community Art Project sponsored by Glendale Heights Child Care. Once finished, these masterpieces will be shown for all to see at Glendale’s City Hall or Glendale’s Visitor Center.

11AM-3PM: SPRECHER TAP ROOM & FOOD TRUCK ALLEY
The Sprecher Taproom is located in The Yard at BAYSHORE and offers drinks from their lineup of more than 20 sodas and 12 craft beers, and a snack menu that includes a giant soft pretzel, locally made popcorn, root beer popcorn, cold Ellsworth Cheese Curds, Vern’s Cheese Whips and Vern’s Cheese Party Snack Packs.

Participating food trucks include El Sazon Dominicano, Pig Tailz, Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds, Kona Ice

1PM-3PM: 5 CARD STUDS
The 5 Card Studs are here, there and everywhere -- for your listening pleasure, for your dancing pleasure, and for one of the most fun times you'll ever have without breaking the law!

Would you like to volunteer? Our community volunteers make this event a success! We seek volunteers 13 years and older. This is a great opportunity for students. Volunteers assist with set-up, take-down, counting attendance, helping at booths, directing traffic, etc. To volunteer, email WelcometoGlendale@gmail.com
