MILWAUKEE (Sept. 29, 2020) – Bayshore is excited to host the Art and Artisan Fair on Oct. 3 and 4, presented by Amdur Productions. Taking place in The Yard, a large, open-air green space located at the heart of Bayshore, and surrounding streets, the free event will feature more than 75 artists and artisans showcasing a variety of fine art, food, clothing, home décor and more.
Guests will also be treated to live music and entertainment as they shop for unique items and gifts, as well as offerings from the new RK’D Bar mobile beer garden. RK’D Bar features a retro gaming arcade and craft beers from local breweries, including Central Waters, Tyranena, New Glarus, Sprecher sodas and seasonal selections.
“We have created a unique open-air destination for friends and family who want to connect and get a jumpstart on shopping for the holiday season,” said Kirk Williams, managing director for Cypress Equities. “With so many talented artists and artisans, you are sure to find a uniquely personalized item for anyone on your list – and maybe even yourself too!”
Artist Highlights
Richard Cooley, Sparkplug Guy
Wisconsin artist, Richard Cooley creates sculptures using materials that most people call “junk.” He finds most of the materials at recycling centers, salvage yards, thrift stores, garage sales and several local automobile, motorcycle and small engine shops. His sculptures are often crafted from materials used in everyday life and every creation is a unique, one-of-a-kind original because the assembly depends on the parts that he has on hand.
Cindy Cumming, Cindy Bella Designs
Cumming’s work uses a patchwork technique to piece together interesting fabrics with contrasting colors and textures. She loves designing and making interesting wearables to enhance a woman's wardrobe.
Monica Nawrocki, Plant Based Beauty
Plant Based Beauty is a one-woman, home-operated small business based out of Chicago, inspired by a holistic approach to health and wellness. All products are made with organic, good-for-you, superfood ingredients derived straight from nature.
William Nardin, WMN Woodworking
Nardin makes wood items called bandsaw boxes. Each box is created using a bandsaw and incorporates at least two types of wood. All the wood originates from tree service companies.
Greg Sobanski, Clear Candle
Clear Candle makes 100 percent reusable and eco-friendly candles that burn soot and toxin free. Each regular sized candle burns for a minimum of 40 to 50 hours and the unique zinc core wicks allow the candle to self-extinguish.
Kathleen Murphy Willer, Painter
Murphy’s artwork is inspired by her outdoor childhood play area – acres of wildflowers and weeds on city-owned land in Milwaukee, where she grew up. Her paintings can be described as full of color and whimsy, briefly escaping into a more peaceful place.
Jon Jahraus, Cartoonist
Jahraus draws original cartoons that are personalized using information about the recipient. With more than 250 designs to choose from, his cartoons make a great, uniquely personalized gift for the special people in your life.
